Botanical Gardens are the part of ex-situ conservation, which represent a place for growing different kinds and varieties of plants collected from different localities of the world. It may be blessed with different ornamental, medicinal, economically valuable, alpine, desert, marshy and aquatic plants. Modern botanical gardens ensure special place to weeds and plants mentioned in the classical and religious literature. This heaven of plants is primarily outdoor collections of labelled living plants; the entire structure being systematically and beautifully landscaped, which will serve scientific function rather than recreation, aesthetic beauty and public amenity. Along with these values, these holy places offered by nature through man having architectural mind provide the acclimatization areas for exotic varieties, germplasm for hybridization, training in horticulture landscaping and gardening.

Our College also provides the wonders of plants to the students and the lovers of nature. This heavenly place is maintained by the Department of Botany. The botanical garden is aged thirty-five years, close to the age of the department. The garden has now become the pride of the college and provides beauty to the institution. Members of the college take special interest in maintaining and caring as well as for the introduction of new varieties of plants. The flora here is arranged in family wise order commencing from Ranunculaceae to Poaceae based on Benthem and Hooker’s classification. This arrangement of flowering plants makes the students happy and more interested to study systematic botany and help them to understand the family of plants in herbarium preparation. Along with angiosperms, the garden provides the space for numerous algae, fungi, bryophytes, ferns and gymnosperms. Currently the department is engaged in the establishment of a garden of medicinal plants beside the botanical garden with the active support and encouragement of the Principal, management, all staff and students of the college.
